PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM Requirements for Admission In addition to regular requirements, applicants must:
Application Dates for Practical Nursing (January 2009 Class) Wednesday, July 23, 2008 Thursday, July 24, 2008 Friday, July 25, 2008
**If a student does not meet the required scores on the NET; re-testing will not be an option until the following trimester and the applicant must re-apply for the next PN Class.
· High School and College transcripts immediately upon submitting the Nursing application · All transcripts must be sent to Student Services ** Applicants who have not submitted the above documentation by the deadline given, will not be allowed to proceed in the application process. 4. Complete the scheduled information session with Nursing Coordinator 5. Additional requirements that will be requested: · A criminal background check and have positive results · A drug test (only a clear ‘Negative’ will be acceptable) · Proof of a medical examination with in the last six months · Two letters of references (relatives are not acceptable references) · Complete the Health Questionnaire form 6. Attend Financial Aid Workshop for TTCM. 7. Attend New Student Orientation for TTCM. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Physical Demands: Prolonged standing and walking; lifting, turning patients and equipment; repeated bending, squatting and stooping; exposure to infectious agents. Visual acuity is needed to assess color changes and to verify accuracy of written materials. Also requires heavy work exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, 75 pounds frequently and 30 pounds constantly. |
